After teaching for the past eight years at Bricknell Primary School, I've just returned to Sutton Park where I started my teaching career back in 2007. I thoroughly enjoy teaching; promoting a love of learning and ensuring children are ready for the challenges of seconday education. I love travelling, spending time exploring new places and discovering destiations in the world. My class would tell you that I'm an America fanatic and often spend the day speaking in an American accent as well as singing the praises of my favourite place in the whole world - Boston! As well as travelling, I love to read. I am a huge Harry Potter fan.
I joined Sutton Park in January 2015 to teach Year 1 and was lucky enough to have the opportunity to take that class into Year 2 for the last academic year. I have remained teaching in Year 2 this year and I love it! My class will tell you that I'm a bit loud and excitable and I love learning to be fun and engaging. If I'm not at school, I enjoy spending quality time with my family and after that you can probably find me screaming very loudly at a Take That concert! I am the future Mrs Mark Owen :-)
My name is Miss Denton. I have been teaching for 6 years now. I spent my first 3 years of my career teaching in West Yorkshire. I then returned to my home town of East Yorkshire where I now live. I believe it is important to build good relationships with children as then they learn to respect and value others as well as themselves. I am currently teaching Year 4 and I really enjoy it. Thank you for reading.

Teaching was something I always wanted to do and I spent many hours playing "schools" as a child - much to the dismay of my little sister! However, having graduated from UMIST I decided to try my hand at retail management and so spent 7 years with Toys R Us seeing children often at their worst - having tantrums about things they wanted but couldn't have. Following the births of my two children I decided to return to my first love - teaching - and now I get to see children at their best (well most of the time!) and I get to be part of enabling them to be anything they aspire to be, magical!
This is my first year of teaching at Sutton Park Primary School and I am very excited to be a part of such a great team. I work as a Year 3 teacher and PE Co-ordinator within the school and I am looking forward to a fantastic year ahead, filled with fun and fascination.
