Welcome to Key Stage One!
The teachers in Key Stage 1 are:
As we are following the City of Culture 'seasons', this term we will be basing our learning around the new season of 'Tell the World'. We will be linking literacy and maths to this theme as well as exploring different areas throughout our foundation subjects.
KS1's take on 'Tell the World' is to tell the world about the tradition of Hull Fair! We are so excited to get started with all the amazing things we have planned.
We will be starting off by looking at the geography of the United Kingdom before focusing in on Hull and the area around where Hull Fair is and our local area. We will be exploring materials in science and investigate which material would be best to keep us warm and dry at Hull Fair. Before half term we will be using our cooking skills to create our own patties! Yummy!
After half term we will be looking at the history of Hull Fair and how Hull has changed over time, especially with the changed made during the City of Culture year. After that it'll be time to use our creative skills to create prints of Hull Fair. We will be using technology to look at directions and coding before finishing the Autumn Term off with music leading up with our traditional Christmas Concert.
What a jam packed term!
